About Ricardo Hoyos

Ricardo was born in Bogotá(Colombia). He began studies on guitar and piano under Ramiro Izasa and Cesar Gétiva, and pursued a Bachelor degree in classical guitar from the Fundacion Universitaria Juan N. Corpas in Colombia, where he studied with Irene Gomez, Guillermo Bocanegra, Miguel Bonachea and Arturo Parra.
He performed as solist and as member of the “Ensamble Laberinto” at venues such as the National Museum in Bogotá, Fabio Lozano Hall and Otto de Greiff Hall. In 2013 he moved to Berlin,where he had lessons with Thomas Offermann in the International Guitar Academy Berlin. Ricardo earned a Master of Music degree from the Hochschule für Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin under the supervision of Eugenia Kanthou.
He participated several times as member of the Ensemble of the International Guitar Academy Berlin conducted by Thomas Offermann at the Festival of the International Guitar Academy in Berlin with prestigious guitarists including Alvaro Pierri and Aniello Desiderio, and has perfomed with the Ensemble in important venues in Germany including Bonn Museum of Modern Art ,the Renaissance Theater in Berlin,Hochschule für Musik und Theater Rostock and Hochschule für Künste Bremen.
Ricardo has attended several guitar festivals in Colombia and Germany.He has taken masterclasses under Marcin Dylla, Marco Tamayo, Ricardo Gallén, Aniello Desiderio, Zoran Dukic and Pablo Marquez.
In February 2017 he and the danish guitar player Cathrine Buch founded the Duo Prometeo. Already in the summer 2017 the Duo got enrolled at the Hochschule für Music und Theater in Rostock with top notes by all three censors.
At the Hochschule they study Master in Chamber Music by the professors Thomas Offermann and Heiko Ossig. The duo has received masterclasses by Zoran Dukic (Croatien), Aniello Desiderio (Italy), Adriano del Sal(Italy),Thomas Fellow, (Germany), Benjamin Verdery (USA), Jesper Sivebæk (Denmark).
He lives Copenhagen where he teaches and develops his musical projects.
